The Cherokee National Holiday, celebrated each year since 1953, commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the 1839 Cherokee Constitution. With an exciting selection of entertainment, cultural and athletic events, it has grown into one of the largest annual festivals in Oklahoma, attracting nearly 100,000 visitors from around the world. With this year's theme, "Happy, Healthy People," the Cherokee National Holiday is a celebration of spiritual, mental and physical well-being. It is also a focal point emphasizing Cherokee heritage, cultural awareness and the reuniting of families. Thousands of Cherokees and visitors from across the United States and abroad will make the pilgrimage to the historic Cherokee Nation capital in Tahlequah this September to renew friendships and celebrate the Cherokee spirit. Our three-day celebration is jam-packed with sports activities for all ages, from traditional games such as Cherokee marbles, the cornstalk shoot and the blowgun competition to more familiar golf and softball tournaments. Hundreds of vendor booths offer visitors the opportunity to view and purchase authentic Native American-made products and foods. Music lovers can pick and choose from gospel and bluegrass music, a toe-tapping |

fiddler's competition, and even a concert from the internationally-known, award-winning Cherokee National Youth Choir. The Cherokee National Holiday is a festive time in Tahlequah. We hope it will be an event you and your family will want to experience every Labor Day weekend. Website

Although every season has its own charm and beauty, autumn is the traditional time for fairs. Each September, Fin & Feather Resort hosts its annual Fall Festival, one of the most popular arts and crafts shows in the state. Last year, thousands of visitors flocked to see more than 200 exhibitors displaying and selling their unique handiwork during the three-day event. Since its inception, the festival has grown in size and attendance every year. The 2010 event looks to be no exception. Already, many of last year's exhibitors have already reserved their booth space for the 42nd Annual Fall Festival Arts & Crafts Show, to be held September 24th, 25th and 26th. Admission is free. Nestled among the beautiful rolling hills of Oklahoma's Green Country near Lake Tenkiller, Fin and Feather Resort is the perfect setting for family reunions, church retreats, business meetings, weddings, or just a weekend getaway Fin and Feather Website |
