Written by Betty Curtis

After winning the title of Vian's Jr Miss in 2004-05 Miss Ashley King, daughter of Robbie and Carlesa King, has had the opportunity to represent Vian in many different ways. She is a 2005 graduate of Vian High School, where she was Captain of the Cheerleading Squad, Senior Class President, and a member of the Honor Society. She is currently attending Northeastern State University in Tahlequah,OK. Ashley hopes to make her career in medicine. The title of Jr Miss has given her the chance to try her wings at many things. Not many know that she has signed a modeling contract with J Ballard Co, and had the opportunity to do a photo shoot for The Gap and more recently a photo shoot for Glamour Shots. Look closely the next time you see those ads, you just may see someone you know! She journeyed to Tulsa in June to compete in the National American Miss Pageant along with 67 other girls for the state title. Ashley placed 1st in this competition to become the National American Miss Oklahoma Teen. In November she will go to Anaheim, California to represent Oklahoma in the National American Miss Teen Pageant. All our good wishes go with her. Good Luck Ashley !! Let everyone know what fine and upstanding teens we have here in Vian.
