Fall Foliage Close to Peak???

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Written by Diane Rutland, Sales and Marketing, Greenleaf and Tenkiller State Parks, "Two great places to park!"www.travelok.com 918-487-5622, extension 4
November is here, and I know you're thinking about the foliage. Here's the first of the weekly emails to keep you posted on foliage conditions near Greenleaf and Tenkiller State Parks.
The trees have a very slight hint of color here in northeastern Oklahoma. Predictions for color changes and peak time is the second week in November.
We do see some Virginia Creeper displaying its' bright red colors at this time.
We have had a lot of rain during the spring and summer and it just seems to be staying greener longer. A cold spell could change all of this in a hurry and colors would change quickly.
Did you know we feature special rates during the "fall" season? Cabins are discounted on weekdays (Sundays through Thursdays) at both parks. Stay one day or four. Purchase a CEO card for $30, stay four consecutive days and your fourth night is free! What a deal! Ask about our CEO card program (Customer with Exciting Opportunities) when you call.
I also welcome folks to email me for weekly foliage reports. you can send your request for foliage updates to me at: DRutland@oklahomaparks.com
Sport It Up Opens in Gore
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Written by Sharon Stratton

Sport It Up of Gore appears to be enjoying an early success after opening in August of this year. The business was a result of a brainstorm born to Dana Terrell and Tramera Fletcher.

Dana and her husband Ron have a son 19 and two daughters, 11 and 4. Dana taught school until the birth of their third child. Since that time she has been a stay at home mom. Tramera and her husband Dennis have three boys, ages 9, 8 and 8 months. Prior to this venture Tamera was working at the Senior Citizens Center in Vian.

Sport It Up is located in the Tenkiller Village Shopping Center in Gore. The ladies have the capability to make vinyl yard signs and

banners to trophies. They can produce individual rhinestone garments, beautiful embroidered shirts, and mass produce screen printed t-shirts and other clothing items.

If you haven't had a chance to drop in and visit Dana and Tramera, do it soon. Even better, order that special someone a hand-crafted garment for Christmas. For more information, call 918-489-5697.

Lakehouse Kitchenettes Expands Lodging For Gore

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lakehouse Kitchenettes opened for business in Gore back in March. According to Helen Carter, manager, they seemed to be doing well. Carter came to Gore to manage the business after working for another motel in Warner for the last six years.
Each unit has a queen sleeper sofa and a king room plus a kitchenette. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and has a full range top.
The extra rooms are a welcomed addition to an area that hosts not only lake visitors each summer, but hunters and fishermen year around.
If you need extra room during the holidays, give Helen a call at 918-489-2350 for more information.
