Dear George,

Lots of things are happening in the Lake Tenkiller area, and we would like to share a little of it with you. Thanks so much for being one of the 1400+ subscribers! We Love Lake Tenkiller!

We have had record breaking rains in Eastern Oklahoma for the month of April. Please be cautious on Lake Tenkiller. There are numerous underwater hazards. Be especially watchful for submerged stumps, logs, fences and other obstructions -- particularly in shallow water and along the shorelines. The current elevation of the lake is 648.0 and is starting to drop. Normal elevation is 632.0. Several campsites in lower lying areas in the campgrounds have been closed to camping, some additional sites have had the electricity turned off. Elk Creek Campground is closed to camping and all traffic. All boat ramps are being impacted with the lake elevation. Click here for the current lake level

From a database of nearly 21 million companies reviewed by Entrepreneur magazine and research provider CentrisPoint, Tenkiller Property.com was distinguished as one of the nation's Hot 100 fast- growth businesses. Tenkiller Property.com, a real estate brokerage firm, ranks 91 on the list for its rapid sales growth and positive job growth, among other select criteria. The Hot 100 ranking appears in the May issue of Entrepreneur, on newsstands now.

Of the nearly 21 million companies on the preliminary list, only 0.3% made the first cut, and just a fraction of those made it to the Hot 100, including Tenkiller Property.com

George Harris, Broker and Owner, stated, "We are honored to be ranked number 91 out of the top 100 companies listed in such a prestigious publication as Entrepreneur magazine."

Initial interview questions asked by Entrepreneur magazine to George were;
To what do you attribute your success? Being straightforward and honest in all of my business dealings and surrounding myself with like-minded people, being a positive force in my community.
What is your definition of success?
Success is a state of mind; it's an attitude, not necessarily a monetary thing. The ability to do business and create someone else's success within your own company, which ultimately defines your own success.
What is the best business advice you have received?
Being taught to manage people without them knowing they are being managed. Staying focused on your own goals while creating a positive work environment.
What was your companies tipping point?
When my competition viewed my company as truly competition. When my peers and competitors followed my marketing techniques and try to emulate our business philosophies.

"This year's Hot 100 listing reveals the shining stars continuing to drive the nation's economy forward," says Karen Axelton, executive editor of Entrepreneur. "These companies, and the entrepreneurs who built them, are making a major impact on the economy with their revenue and the new jobs they create as a result of their growth. The innovation, persistence and passion they demonstrate in industries across the board are vital to the nation's success as a whole."

"I am grateful to Entrepreneur magazine, but mostly I am grateful to all of the staff of Tenkiller Property.com and to all of our clients and customers for placing their confidence in our integrity and people. They made this happen!"

GTAA Fireworks Extravaganza

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's time to start thinking about the 2008 fireworks display. This extravaganza will take place on Friday, July 4, 2008 at the south end of the dam on beautiful Lake Tenkiller at dusk. You can expect a great show again this year with the advantage of the holiday being on a Friday. We hope you will come early in the week and stay as long as you can to take in other attractions and events in the area. The event is funded only by businesses and individuals who have a genuine interest in seeing that this fireworks tradition continues for the enjoyment of both lake visitors and surrounding communities.
All levels of contributors, from one star to five stars will be listed in the 2009 Greater Tenkiller Lake Visitors Guide as a fireworks contributor. See this year's guide on page 33 for a listing of those who made last year's display possible.
The GTAA works diligently to promote the area, while preserving the natural beauty of the lake. With the support of all of our business and residential members, we will continue our efforts to grow and promote our diamond in the rough!
With your contribution of $100 or more, you will receive a one-year membership to the Greater Tenkiller Area Association. The benefits of the membership include, but are not limited to area maps, business referrals, brochure display and distribution, committee opportunities, listing on the web page which averages more than 190,000 hits per month in the summer and 50,000 hits per month in the winter, marketing opportunities, membership directory, relocation leads, representation in the Visitor's Guide which has a circulation of 75,000 and representation at Boat and Travel Shows.
The 2008 Lake Tenkiller's Fireworks Extravaganza should be the best fireworks display ever for the Lake Tenkiller area! We truly appreciate all of you who sponsor this event and our lake association. If not for people like you caring about our lake, the fireworks display would not be possible for the thousands of visitors who view it. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact 918-489-5888 or by email: lakenut36@yahoo.com. Deadline for getting your sponsorship money recognized in the guide is May 15, 2008.
